Here's a glimpse into our day-to-day:

TUTORING

The After-School-Thing is an after school tutoring program for grades 1-12 in the West Circle community during the school year. With the help of our volunteers, we’re able to help our little friends improve their academic progress, and also finish their homework before dinner so that evening family time is less stressful. Our volunteers have come from all walks of life - from friends, neighbors and retired teachers to college and high school students.

Our neighbors at The Green House walk beside our West Circle neighbors, particularly the children, in cultivating a love of reading.

The first library is a "Keep It" Library of gently used book donations. These books are provided so our neighbors can create personal libraries at home.

The second library is a traditional lending library. This collection grows through monetary donations and is curated to include titles of high interest texts at different reading levels. These books seek to encourage, inspire, and open the world to the children in our community.

As The Green House library expands and grows through story-time, lending library, and tutoring opportunities, we hope to assist readers, young and old. We also hope to be a friend to anyone who might need one.

THE BRAYDEN HOUSE

The Brayden House provides free housing and meals for displaced parents of babies in the NICU at DCH Health System in Tuscaloosa and Northport. We serve these parents with shelter, warm meals, spiritual support, and most of all, love!

THE COMMUNITY GARDEN

In the Community Garden we grow more than vegetables - we grow relationships. The garden is set up for folks to garden their own spots. It's a place to sit and visit while we watch our vegetables grow.
